Arctic Fox in Summertime

In summer Arctic Foxes shed most of their white and thick snowy fur coat making them look more brown than white. This way they won’t stand out in the forest. I always find foxes quite funny in spring time when they change over to their summer coat. They look like they’ve had a bit of a rough time!

Arctic foxes have brilliant camouflage abilities. They also don’t mind that their winter coat makes them look rather chubby!

Equipped with paws that reheat their blood constantly to keep them warm (or countercurrent heat exchanger if you want to get fancy) and hearing that detects a mouse shuffling under meters of deep snow, these little foxes are amazing cute and fluffy (mainly in winter though) animals.
